barbed glasses

We were ready to flounce right by this glassware when we first saw it. One of us sniffed, dismissively, and the other rolled her eyes to heaven. Too…hostile. Angry. Even violent.

The bright fellow watching the shop that day engaged us in such lively chatter though that we were forced to stop and converse. How lucky are you that we did.

Terry invited us to pick up and hold (eek!) the spiked martini glasses on tender stems. We were hooked. The barbs, he explained, represent scotch thistle spikes. Which seemed particularly appropriate as we picked up the tumblers, aka scotch glasses.

In what can only be described as magic, the barbs fit in and around your fingers and palm forming a union that feels so unassailable, so secure and oh, so right.

You, glass in hand, are ready to take the world by storm.
